MOOOOOOOOOO SAYS THE COW
as expected, our visit to pawpaw's house over memorial day weekend did NOT disappoint! not one, but TWO little calves were born that very morning :) one momma cow was very protective, but we managed to get a close-up with the other little calf! it was very soft, and we witnessed its first steps later in the afternoon. wow, they grow up fast - ha!
my little cowboy and cowgirl rode around on the four-wheeler, helped make - and eat! - old school homemade vanilla ice cream, and gave their best shot at flying kites on a very windy day.
addi, momma, aunt heather, and aunt shazzy walked thru the pond... literally, thru it. here in houston, we are in a drought. big time! the cattle are on the skinny side and the pond is pitiful. but that didn't keep up from searching for turtle shells, clams (caught a live one!), and joking about all the turtle heads randomly popping up from what's left of that historic pond. cam was resting inside and watching The Lion King on (gasp!) vhs tape!
y'all also discovered the coasters in pawpaw's dining room. and you were as fascinated with them as momma, your aunts, and your uncle were as kids. they are round, aluminum - or maybe tin - coasters with a scallop edged lip... and somehow they provide hours of entertainment. it won't be long before y'all are playing restaurant in that dining room, getting into the china when you're not supposed to, and fighting over who gets the coasters... just like we did as kids!
momma loves Loves LOVES getting to experience these things with her kiddos... it's just like when she was a wee little girl... and with the same awesome pawpaw! what a blessing :)
